What should children eat if they sweat during sleep?
Generally, children who sweat during sleep can consume foods rich in calcium, as well as high-protein and high-vitamin foods. They may also take certain traditional Chinese medicines under a doctor's guidance to help improve the condition.
1. Calcium-rich foods
Excessive sweating during sleep in children may be caused by calcium deficiency. It is recommended to include more calcium-rich foods in their daily diet, such as shrimp skins, milk, etc.
2. High-protein and high-vitamin foods
Sweating during sleep might indicate general physical weakness in children. Improving nutritional intake by consuming more high-protein and high-vitamin foods—such as eggs, lean meat, and fresh vegetables and fruits—is advisable.
3. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)
Sweating during sleep in children could result from yin deficiency. Under medical supervision, certain Chinese patent medicines can be used for regulation, such as Liuwei Dihuang Pills or Xihan Ting Granules.
Sweating during sleep in children may also be a normal physiological phenomenon, such as due to high room temperature or excessive bedding. It is recommended to strengthen daily care for the child and make appropriate dietary adjustments. If symptoms persist or fail to improve, timely medical consultation and appropriate treatment are advised.
