How are gastric nodules formed?
The formation of gastric nodules may be related to long-term improper diet, use of medications that damage the gastric mucosa, or Helicobacter pylori infection.
1. Long-term improper diet
Regularly consuming spicy and irritating foods can stimulate the gastric mucosa, leading to chronic inflammation. This may even cause abnormal tissue proliferation in localized areas, eventually resulting in the formation of gastric nodules.
2. Use of medications that damage the gastric mucosa
Long-term use of drugs such as aspirin or acetaminophen can irritate the stomach and directly harm the gastric mucosa. Persistent mucosal injury increases the risk of developing gastric nodules.
3. Helicobacter pylori infection
Infection with Helicobacter pylori in the stomach often leads to conditions such as gastric ulcers or gastritis. If these conditions persist over time, they may trigger abnormal tissue proliferation in the stomach, making the development of gastric nodules more likely.
Gastric nodules can have certain impacts on health. Therefore, when patients experience discomfort in the stomach, it is recommended to visit a hospital for further diagnosis—such as biopsy via gastroscopy or endoscopic ultrasound—to determine the exact condition and select an appropriate treatment approach.
