It is not recommended to eat potato chips or snacks during the postpartum recovery period. Potato chips are high in fat and calories but low in nutritional value, and excessive consumption is not conducive to a mother's physical recovery. The hard and dry texture of potato chips may harm the mouth and digestive system, potentially causing constipation or indigestion. Additionally, potato chips contain numerous additives that could be passed to the baby through breast milk.

Generally, it is not recommended to eat potato chips or other snack foods during the postpartum confinement period, as additives in these snacks may affect the health of both the mother and the baby.

Potato chips are snacks made from potatoes, starch, and other ingredients that are deep-fried at high temperatures. Additives may also be included during processing. Although potatoes themselves contain many nutrients, most of these nutrients are lost during high-temperature frying, making potato chips ineffective for providing essential nutrition to support a mother’s recovery after childbirth. With their high fat content, potato chips are considered low-nutrient, high-calorie foods, and excessive consumption is not conducive to postnatal recovery. Their hard texture and dry taste can irritate the mouth and digestive tract, potentially leading to constipation or indigestion. Moreover, various additives in potato chips may be passed to the infant through breast milk, possibly harming the baby's growth and development. Therefore, eating potato chips and similar snacks is not advised during the postpartum confinement period.

The postpartum confinement period is a critical time for women to recover physically after childbirth. Regarding diet, mothers should focus on balanced nutrition. It is beneficial to consume moderate amounts of nourishing soups such as fish soup, pig's trotter soup, and bone soup, which not only help replenish nutrients but are also relatively easy to digest.
