Introduction
In general, umbilical cord entanglement may be caused by the mother's sleeping position, excessive amniotic fluid, or overly frequent fetal movements. Pregnant women are advised to undergo regular prenatal checkups at the hospital. If the umbilical cord is excessively wrapped around the fetus or tightly around the fetal neck, it may lead to developmental abnormalities, respiratory distress, or other complications, which should be promptly addressed to avoid adverse effects on the fetus's normal development.

Under normal circumstances, umbilical cord entanglement may be caused by the mother's sleeping position, excessive amniotic fluid, or overly frequent fetal movements. Pregnant women are advised to undergo regular prenatal checkups at the hospital. If the umbilical cord excessively wraps around the fetus, especially around the fetal neck, it may lead to developmental abnormalities, respiratory distress, or other complications, which require timely intervention to prevent adverse effects on the fetus's normal development.

1. Maternal sleeping position: If a pregnant woman maintains an incorrect sleeping posture during pregnancy—such as consistently lying on her left side—the umbilical cord may become excessively accumulated on the left side, increasing the likelihood of cord entanglement.

2. Excessive amniotic fluid: During early fetal development, if there is an abnormally high volume of amniotic fluid within the uterine cavity, the increased intrauterine space may allow greater fetal movement, thereby raising the probability of umbilical cord entanglement.

3. Excessively frequent fetal movement: If the fetus moves frequently with large-amplitude motions such as rolling or turning, the umbilical cord may become wrapped around the neck, torso, or limbs during these activities.
