The entire process of rhinitis surgery
The treatment of rhinitis primarily involves medication. When symptoms fail to improve with medication and significantly affect quality of life, surgical intervention may be considered. Taking inferior turbinate lateralization (fracture) as an example, the specific steps are as follows:

1. The patient is placed in a semi-reclining position with the head kept from tilting backward, and general anesthesia is administered by an anesthesiologist.
2. The physician inserts a nasal endoscope into the nasal cavity to observe the internal nasal structures.
3. Under endoscopic guidance, epinephrine-soaked cotton strips are used to shrink and ablate the enlarged inferior turbinates bilaterally.
4. A scalpel is used to fracture and laterally displace the inferior turbinates, thereby maintaining a relatively patent nasal passage.
5. The endoscope is removed from the nasal cavity, the nasal cavity is irrigated, and finally packed for hemostasis, concluding the procedure.
