"Yi xing yan" usually refers to hepatitis B virus infection. Main symptoms after onset include loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea, jaundice, and liver area pain.

  1. Loss of appetite

Due to continuous replication of the hepatitis B virus in the body, liver damage occurs and bile secretion decreases, affecting the digestion of fats and proteins, thereby causing reduced appetite.

  2. Fatigue

When liver function is impaired, the absorption and utilization of nutrients are disrupted. The body cannot obtain sufficient nutrition, leading to malnutrition and resulting in feelings of weakness.

  3. Nausea

During the active phase of hepatitis B, liver cells are damaged and transaminase levels in the body may rise, which can easily cause nausea.

  4. Jaundice

Damaged liver cells may fail to properly metabolize and excrete bilirubin, leading to its accumulation in the bloodstream and causing jaundice, such as yellowing of the skin and mucous membranes.

  5. Liver area pain

After hepatitis B virus invades liver cells, inflammatory necrosis occurs, causing cellular edema and liver enlargement, which stimulates the liver capsule and results in pain in the liver region.

Patients are advised to seek timely medical evaluation at a hospital, complete relevant examinations, and receive standardized treatment under a doctor's guidance once a diagnosis is confirmed. Smoking and alcohol consumption should be avoided during treatment to prevent further liver damage and support recovery.
