Introduction
Air mattresses may affect development, induce cervical spine curvature, and trigger rheumatic diseases. Due to their soft material, prolonged use of air mattresses can lead to spinal strain and discomfort from lack of proper support, potentially causing skeletal deformation. In addition, air mattresses may negatively impact lumbar health, possibly leading to lumbar disc herniation and lower back muscle strain.

An air mattress may be harmful to the body, potentially affecting development, causing cervical spine curvature, and triggering rheumatic diseases.

1. Affecting Development

Adolescence and childhood are critical periods for growth and development, during which the bones have not fully matured. An air mattress does not provide adequate support, and prolonged use may negatively impact skeletal development.

2. Inducing Cervical Spine Curvature

Air mattresses are typically made of soft, highly elastic materials. Sleeping long-term on such a soft surface deprives the neck of proper support, leading to neck stiffness and soreness. Over time, this lack of support can cause bone deformation and spinal curvature.

3. Triggering Rheumatic Diseases

Air mattresses are non-breathable, which can trap moisture underneath bedding. Long-term sleeping in such damp, poorly ventilated conditions increases bodily dampness and raises the risk of developing rheumatoid diseases.

In addition, air mattresses may also negatively affect lumbar health, potentially leading to lumbar disc herniation and lower back muscle strain, thereby disrupting sleep and impairing performance in study and work.
