Introduction
Whether laryngitis requires hospitalization depends on the patient's specific condition, including chronic laryngitis and acute laryngitis. In general, chronic laryngitis does not require hospitalization, whereas acute laryngitis may necessitate admission. If respiratory distress occurs, epinephrine intramuscular injection should be administered and tracheotomy performed to relieve airway obstruction, preventing asphyxiation and life-threatening complications.

Whether laryngitis requires hospitalization depends on the patient's specific condition, including chronic laryngitis and acute laryngitis.

If it is chronic laryngitis and the patient's condition is relatively mild, treatment usually involves taking medications such as Eucalyptus and Piperine Enteric-coated Capsules or Myrtol capsules under a doctor's guidance. This is often combined with nebulized inhalation therapy. Most patients can be completely cured without requiring hospitalization. However, in cases of acute laryngitis, inflammation typically causes congestion and swelling of the throat mucosa, which often necessitates hospitalization. Swelling narrows the airway and may lead to breathing difficulties. Immediate treatment under medical supervision should include intravenous corticosteroids and local nebulized therapy to reduce swelling. If breathing difficulties worsen, epinephrine injections and tracheotomy may be necessary under medical guidance to relieve airway obstruction and prevent suffocation, which could otherwise pose life-threatening risks.

It is recommended to maintain good oral hygiene during treatment, rinsing the mouth promptly after eating.
