What is the method of using a COVID-19 test kit?
The COVID-19 test kit refers to the novel coronavirus antigen detection kit, which allows individuals in need to conduct screening for SARS-CoV-2 infection at home. The specific instructions for use are as follows:
1. Carefully read the instruction manual and check the integrity and expiration date of the kit packaging. If the package is damaged or expired, replace it immediately.
2. Clean your hands and nasal cavity thoroughly to ensure they are free from dirt.
3. Open the package, remove the nasal swab, sample tube, test card, and place them separately.
4. Tilt your head slightly backward. Holding the nasal swab, gently insert it into one nostril until it reaches 1–1.5 centimeters deep, then rotate it against the inner wall of the nasal cavity for four full turns. Repeat the same procedure in the other nostril without changing the swab.
5. Insert the nasal swab into the sample extraction tube and snap off the swab at the designated breakpoint.
6. Remove the transparent cap from the top of the extraction tube and add four drops of the extracted sample into the sample well. Read the results within 15 to 30 minutes, following the interpretation guidelines provided in the instruction manual.
