Introduction
Pressure dressing hemostasis is a method of controlling bleeding through dressing. It is commonly used in clinical practice for lacerations, combat injuries, contusions, and surgical incisions. After covering the wound with a sterile dressing, pads made of gauze, cotton, towels, or clothing—folded to an appropriate size—are placed over the sterile dressing. The area is then firmly wrapped with bandages, triangular bandages, or similar materials until bleeding stops.

Pressure dressing hemostasis is a method of controlling bleeding through bandaging. It is commonly used in clinical settings for lacerations, combat injuries, contusions, and surgical incisions. After covering the wound with sterile dressing, a pad made of gauze, cotton, towels, or clothing—folded to an appropriate size—is placed over the dressing. The area is then tightly wrapped with bandages or triangular bandages until bleeding stops. This procedure should be performed only by trained professionals. The specific steps are as follows:

1. Medical personnel perform local wound debridement on the patient, using hydrogen peroxide and iodophor to remove impurities and disinfect the wound.

2. After local debridement, precise hemostasis can be achieved by ligating small blood vessels and suturing the wound.

3. Apply multi-layer gauze to exert pressure on the wound and stop bleeding, then secure the dressing with a bandage wrapped tightly around the injured limb to maintain compression. Pressure dressing hemostasis can be used for bleeding from small arteries, veins, or capillaries. However, this method is contraindicated if bone fragments are present in the wound, as it may exacerbate injury.
