Introduction
Ovulation-related abdominal pain and backache may be normal phenomena, or they could be caused by factors such as ovarian cyst rupture, ovarian enlargement, oophoritis, or pelvic inflammatory disease. During the ovulation period, a mature follicle is released from the ovary. As the follicle matures, it ruptures and releases follicular fluid into the abdominal cavity, which may irritate the peritoneum and lead to abdominal pain and backache.

Generally, abdominal pain and backache during ovulation may be normal physiological phenomena, or they could be caused by factors such as ovarian cyst rupture, ovarian expansion, oophoritis (ovarian inflammation), or pelvic inflammatory disease. The specific analysis is as follows:

1. Normal phenomenon

During the ovulation period, mature follicles are released from the body. As the follicle matures, it ruptures and releases follicular fluid into the abdominal cavity, which may irritate the peritoneum and lead to abdominal pain and backache. This is considered a normal physiological occurrence, and maintaining warmth in the abdominal area is usually sufficient.

2. Ovarian cyst rupture

During ovulation, the rupture of an ovarian cyst may cause abdominal pain and backache. These symptoms are typically short-lived and may be accompanied by discomfort on one side of the abdomen, mild bleeding, and mild lower back pain.

3. Ovarian expansion

During ovulation, the ovary swells as it prepares to release an egg. This process may cause mild bloating, abdominal or pelvic discomfort, and backache. This type of pain is usually temporary, lasting from several hours to a few days, and gradually subsides.

4. Oophoritis (Ovarian inflammation)

Oophoritis refers to infection or inflammation of the ovarian tissue. During ovulation, existing oophoritis may worsen or become symptomatic, causing persistent abdominal pain and cyclical back pain. Under medical guidance, patients may take medications such as azithromycin tablets or amoxicillin tablets for treatment.

5. Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)

If a patient has pre-existing pelvic inflammation before ovulation, the body's immunity may decrease during this period, potentially exacerbating the inflammation and leading to abdominal pain and backache. Patients may follow medical advice to take oral medications such as cefixime tablets or levofloxacin hydrochloride tablets for treatment.

In daily life, it is important to maintain healthy habits and avoid consuming spicy or irritating foods to prevent harm to the body.
