Signs of successful fresh embryo transfer in IVF
Fresh embryo transfer in vitro refers to the transfer of fresh embryos in IVF (in vitro fertilization). The main signs of a successful transfer include discomfort symptoms, abnormal vaginal discharge, and changes in human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) levels.
1. Discomfort Symptoms
If a woman undergoes IVF and successfully transfers a fresh embryo, she may experience obvious early pregnancy symptoms during the first trimester, such as nausea, vomiting, increased appetite, significant drowsiness, and breast tenderness, softness, swelling, and warmth. Therefore, these symptoms are primary indicators of a successful fresh embryo transfer in IVF.
2. Abnormal Vaginal Discharge
If a woman undergoing fresh embryo transfer in IVF experiences a noticeable increase in vaginal discharge without using progesterone gel—particularly if the discharge resembles thick, yogurt-like clumps—it may also indicate a successful implantation. This condition is usually normal and not a cause for concern.
3. Changes in Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hCG)
If, after undergoing fresh embryo transfer in IVF, a woman visits the hospital for a blood hCG test and shows a significant and continuously rising level of human chorionic gonadotropin, this can also confirm a successful embryo transfer.
