How to improve severe eye wrinkles
Patients with severe eye wrinkles need to take proper daily care measures. Regular use of eye cream with gentle massage on the affected area can help improve the appearance of eye wrinkles. When necessary, treatments such as hyaluronic acid fillers, autologous fat grafting, or facial lifting may be considered for better results.
1. Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
For dynamic crow's feet around the eyes, wrinkle reduction can be achieved through hyaluronic acid injections. Hyaluronic acid is a commonly used dermal filler that provides structural support and effectively smooths out wrinkles. When eye wrinkles are particularly noticeable, injecting hyaluronic acid not only reduces wrinkles but also helps tighten the local skin. However, since the body gradually absorbs and metabolizes hyaluronic acid over time, the results are not permanent and typically last from six months to one year.
2. Autologous Fat Grafting
Autologous fat grafting involves harvesting excess fat from one’s own body and transferring it to areas in need of volume, such as the eye area. Only a small amount of fat is required for treating eye wrinkles. However, the final outcome may vary depending on the survival rate of the transplanted fat cells. Since the procedure uses the patient’s own tissue, there is minimal risk of allergic or rejection reactions.
3. Facial Lifting
For patients with severe eye wrinkles accompanied by cheek sagging (e.g., malar fat pad descent) or prominent glabellar lines (frown lines), facial lifting surgery may be an effective option. This procedure not only reduces eye wrinkles but also lifts and tightens the entire facial skin, resulting in a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.
Besides the above methods, other aesthetic medical treatments such as laser therapy or ultrasound-based devices (e.g., Ultherapy) can also be used to reduce periorbital wrinkles.
