Introduction
Photophobia after eye injury may be caused by keratitis, conjunctivitis, uveitis, etc. Keratitis causes a foreign body sensation in the eye when exposed to bright light. Conjunctivitis symptoms worsen under light stimulation, leading to ocular irritation. Uveitis induces ciliary muscle contraction, resulting in eye pain. Other causes may include hyphema or similar conditions.

Photophobia after eye injury may be caused by conditions such as keratitis, conjunctivitis, or uveitis.

1. Keratitis

After an eye injury, the cornea's defensive ability may weaken. Stimulation of the cornea can trigger an inflammatory response, leading to keratitis. This inflammation causes a significant foreign body sensation in the eye when exposed to bright light.

2. Conjunctivitis

An eye injury may cause inflammation of the small blood vessels in the conjunctiva, resulting in conjunctivitis. Exposure to light can exacerbate the inflammatory response, leading to ocular irritation symptoms.

3. Uveitis

An eye injury may induce an inflammatory response in the uveal layer, causing uveitis. When exposed to light, this condition can easily trigger ciliary muscle contraction, resulting in eye pain.

In addition, other factors such as hyphema (blood in the anterior chamber) may also contribute. It is recommended to seek medical evaluation at a hospital to determine the exact underlying cause.
