Early symptoms of aspiration pneumonia
Common early symptoms of aspiration pneumonia include wheezing, difficulty breathing, and high fever.
1. Wheezing
Due to lung infection, the bronchial mucosa is easily irritated and laryngeal reflex spasms may occur, leading to wheezing.
2. Difficulty breathing
As the condition worsens, coughing and wheezing typically become more pronounced, resulting in difficulty breathing. In severe cases, cyanosis around the mouth may also develop.
3. Fever
As the lung infection progresses, young children or individuals with poor physical health are prone to develop moderate or high fever.
In addition, complications such as acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) may occur, causing significant discomfort.
