Introduction
Androgens are typically male sex hormones. If a male's androgen secretion is too low, it may cause symptoms such as fatigue and reduced libido; in severe cases, it can lead to decreased muscle mass and reduced body hair. Excessive secretion may potentially result in tumors. In addition, androgens promote the development of male characteristics such as muscular build, deep and resonant voice, and beard growth.

Androgens are generally male hormones.

Male hormones are an essential component synthesized by the testes as testosterone. They promote the maturation of male reproductive organs and maintain the development of secondary male characteristics, such as growth of pubic hair, development of the Adam's apple, and underarm hair. They also support normal male libido, enhance reproductive function, and help maintain muscle strength and bone density.

In males, androgen production is stimulated by luteinizing hormone secreted by the pituitary gland, which induces the interstitial cells of the testes to produce testosterone. After being produced in the testes, testosterone reaches high local concentrations, creating a favorable environment for sperm. If male androgen secretion is too low, symptoms such as fatigue and reduced libido may occur. In severe cases, this can lead to decreased muscle mass and reduced body hair. Conversely, excessive androgen secretion may increase the risk of tumors, such as prostate cancer, and elevate blood viscosity, thereby increasing the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

In addition, androgens contribute to well-developed muscles, a deep and resonant voice, and beard growth in males.
