Are there benign kidney tumors?
Renal CA may be benign.
CA is an abbreviation for cancer in English. Renal CA refers to kidney cancer, a malignant tumor originating from the epithelial cells of renal tubules. The exact cause of kidney cancer remains unclear, although it is generally associated with genetic factors, obesity, smoking, and hypertension. Common symptoms include hematuria (blood in urine), flank pain, and an abdominal mass. In early stages, clinical manifestations are often absent, and by the time distinct symptoms appear, the disease is usually already at an intermediate or advanced stage.
Treatment options for kidney cancer include medication and surgery. Kidney cancer is a malignant tumor occurring in the kidneys, most commonly histologically classified as clear cell carcinoma. A characteristic feature of kidney cancer is that it typically does not involve lymph node or distant organ metastasis at diagnosis. Therefore, chemotherapy and radiotherapy are generally not required. The primary treatment is surgical removal of the affected kidney and tumor. After surgery, in addition to enhancing immune function, patients should receive subcutaneous interferon injections for a duration of up to six months as adjuvant therapy. Since kidney cancer may develop in the contralateral kidney, postoperative ultrasound examination of the opposite kidney is recommended.
Patients are advised to maintain a light diet, consume more fresh fruits and vegetables, and avoid greasy, spicy, and irritating foods.
