Introduction
The proper method of nasal irrigation for rhinitis is related to the severity of the condition. For mild rhinitis, use tap water to rinse the nasal cavity—either in the morning or at night—by gently sniffing water into the nose, holding it for several seconds, then blowing it out to clear nasal secretions. For severe rhinitis, under medical guidance, inhale saline solution into the nasal cavity, hold for a few seconds, then expel it to remove secretions and maintain moisture of the nasal mucosa.

The proper method for rinsing the nasal cavity in cases of rhinitis is related to the severity of the condition.

1. Mild Rhinitis

When rhinitis is mild, tap water can usually be used to rinse the nasal cavity. It is recommended to cup your hands and collect some water after waking up in the morning or before going to bed at night. Gently inhale the water into the nose, hold it for several seconds, then blow it out. This helps clear nasal secretions and relieve nasal congestion.

2. Severe Rhinitis

When rhinitis is more severe, you may, under a doctor's guidance, dissolve salt into tap water to create a mild saline solution. Gently inhale this solution into the nose, hold for a few seconds, then expel it. Repeating this rinsing process several times each morning and evening can help remove nasal secretions, keep the nasal mucosa moist, and effectively prevent or alleviate nasal discomfort.

If discomfort caused by rhinitis is intense, prompt medical attention is necessary, along with active cooperation in treatment.
