Introduction
Stomach pain lasting for a day may be caused by factors such as irritating diet, taking medications that significantly damage the gastric mucosa, or excessive mental stress, leading to chronic gastritis. It could also result from consuming contaminated food, causing infection with intestinal pathogens and resulting in acute gastroenteritis. Additionally, if one already has gastric ulcers, recent high stress levels or an irritating diet might trigger an episode or worsen the condition.

Stomach pain lasting for a day may be caused by conditions such as chronic gastritis, acute gastroenteritis, or gastric ulcers.

1. Chronic Gastritis

This may result from consuming irritating foods, taking medications that significantly damage the gastric mucosa, excessive mental stress, or other factors leading to chronic inflammation of the stomach lining, resulting in chronic gastritis and associated stomach pain. Under medical guidance, H2 receptor antagonists such as famotidine tablets, cimetidine tablets, and ranitidine capsules can be used to help alleviate symptoms.

2. Acute Gastroenteritis

This may occur due to unhygienic diet or infection with intestinal pathogens, causing an acute inflammatory response in the gastric mucosa and leading to acute gastroenteritis. When pain is severe, antispasmodic medications such as pethidine hydrochloride tablets, anisodamine hydrochloride injection, or scopolamine hydrobromide injection may be used under medical supervision to relieve symptoms.

3. Gastric Ulcer

Stomach pain may also stem from pre-existing gastric ulcers that have flared up or worsened recently due to high stress levels or consumption of irritating foods. Under a doctor's direction, gastric mucosal protectants such as hydrotalcite tablets, sucralfate tablets, and bismuth potassium citrate tablets may be used to help improve symptoms.

In addition, stomach pain could also be caused by gastric cancer. Prompt identification of the exact cause and timely, appropriate treatment are essential for symptom improvement.
