Introduction
Bronchiectasis typically presents with chronic cough following inflammation and stimulation by secretions in the bronchi, which is usually more pronounced in the morning. As the infection worsens, patients produce significantly increased amounts of sputum, which is generally yellowish-green and purulent, sometimes accompanied by a foul odor. Some patients may cough up blood-tinged sputum, and in severe cases, massive hemoptysis or asphyxiation may occur, posing a life-threatening risk.

Common symptoms of bronchiectasis typically include chronic cough, sputum production, and hemoptysis.

1. Chronic cough: After being irritated by inflammation and secretions, the bronchi often lead to a chronic cough, which is usually more pronounced in the morning.

2. Sputum production: As the infection worsens, patients produce significantly more sputum, particularly upon waking and in the evening. The sputum is typically yellow-green and purulent, sometimes accompanied by a foul odor.

3. Hemoptysis: Some patients may cough up blood-tinged sputum; severe cases can result in massive hemoptysis or even asphyxiation, posing a life-threatening risk.

In addition to the above symptoms, patients may also experience fever, fatigue, and decreased appetite.
