Introduction
A pulmonary subsolid nodule indicates a localized lesion within the lung. Subsolid nodules are classified into pure ground-glass nodules and mixed ground-glass nodules. Pure ground-glass nodules may result from bacterial infection or autoimmune conditions, and although they carry a certain risk of malignant transformation, this risk is relatively low. Mixed ground-glass nodules mostly exhibit features of minimally invasive adenocarcinoma and may represent an early manifestation of lung cancer.

Lung subsolid nodules are typically a pathological description identified during imaging examinations, indicating that the nodule has lower density than solid nodules and does not completely obscure the underlying lung parenchyma. Subsolid nodules are further classified into pure ground-glass nodules and mixed ground-glass nodules. Pure ground-glass nodules may result from bacterial infections or autoimmune conditions; although they carry a certain risk of malignant transformation, this risk is generally low. In contrast, mixed ground-glass nodules often exhibit features of minimally invasive adenocarcinoma and may represent an early manifestation of lung cancer, thus requiring active intervention.

After detection of a solid pulmonary nodule, patients are advised to undergo appropriate diagnostic evaluations and receive timely management based on the underlying cause to prevent significant adverse effects on health.
