How long does it take for the stomach to become flat after a vaginal delivery?
After a vaginal delivery, the abdomen generally returns to flat within 4 to 6 months. However, due to differences in individual physical conditions, the exact recovery time may vary.
If a woman has good overall health, fast metabolism, and is not naturally predisposed to obesity, her abdomen usually becomes flat again around 4 months after childbirth. On the other hand, if she has poor physical condition, slow metabolism, or is naturally overweight, it may take about 6 months after delivery for the abdomen to gradually regain its flatness. At this stage, appropriate abdominal exercises such as jumping rope, push-ups, or abdominal massage can be helpful to improve blood circulation in the abdominal area and speed up recovery.
After childbirth, it's essential to get sufficient rest and adjust your diet—avoid foods high in fat and calories, such as fried or greasy foods, animal fats, sweets, and processed foods. Instead, increase intake of dietary fiber-rich foods like carrots, cucumbers, and sweet potatoes.
