    I. Normal Causes

    At 13 weeks of pregnancy, abdominal bloating and tightness may result from improper diet. Consuming excessive high-protein foods such as milk or soybeans can lead to intestinal gas, causing bloating and a sensation of tightness. Additionally, since the fetus is actively growing and developing at this stage, external stimuli may trigger uterine contractions, resulting in a tight, bloated feeling in the abdomen. These symptoms are generally considered normal and do not require special treatment—monitoring and observation are usually sufficient.

    II. Abnormal Causes

    1. Intestinal Gas

    During pregnancy, if proper warmth is not maintained or cold or raw foods are consumed, it may lead to chilling of the body and subsequent intestinal gas. In such cases, it's important to keep the abdomen warm.

    2. Threatened Miscarriage

    If a pregnant woman experiences excessive fatigue or her abdomen suffers physical trauma during pregnancy, it may lead to a threatened miscarriage. This can cause abdominal bloating and tightness, and may also be accompanied by abdominal pain and vaginal bleeding. A hospital evaluation is recommended, and in some cases, fetal preservation treatments such as progesterone injections may be necessary.
