Introduction
A stiff neck may be a precursor to cervical spondylosis. If one sleeps on a high pillow or maintains a sleeping posture for prolonged periods, it may lead to neck muscle spasms and contractions, resulting in a stiff neck, which is generally considered a normal physiological phenomenon. However, frequent occurrences may indicate an early sign of cervical spondylosis, as the condition can cause insufficient joint stability and ligament laxity, making the neck more susceptible to repeated episodes of stiffness when exposed to adverse stimuli.

Waking up with a stiff neck may be an early sign of cervical spondylosis, so it is advisable to stay alert and pay attention to proper care.

Under normal circumstances, sleeping with a pillow that is too high, too low, or exposing the neck to cold, as well as maintaining the same sleeping posture for prolonged periods, may cause neck muscles to go into spasm or contraction, resulting in a stiff neck. This is generally considered a normal physiological phenomenon. However, if it occurs frequently, it could be an early warning sign of cervical spondylosis. When cervical spondylosis develops, insufficient joint strength and ligament laxity may make the neck more susceptible to recurrent stiff neck episodes when exposed to adverse factors.

Once the above symptoms occur, patients are advised to engage in supportive exercises and improve their daily habits to help control the condition and prevent further progression of the disease.
