There are lumps near the nipple during pregnancy.
During pregnancy, bumps near the nipple may be caused by blocked sebaceous glands, allergies, or Montgomery tubercles.
1. Blocked sebaceous glands
In daily life, if the breasts are not regularly cleaned or if dirty underwear is worn, it may lead to blockage of sebaceous glands, resulting in localized bumps. It's important to develop a habit of regularly changing and washing underwear.
2. Montgomery tubercles
Montgomery tubercles appear around the outer area of the areola. They form due to swelling and protrusion at the openings of Montgomery glands. Starting from about week 8 of pregnancy, alveoli and lobules in the mammary glands begin to proliferate and develop, causing the breasts to enlarge gradually and the areola to darken. The appearance of Montgomery tubercles around the areola may cause bumps near the nipple. This is a normal physiological phenomenon and usually does not require treatment.
3. Allergies
Frequent exposure to allergens such as pollen or dust in daily life may irritate the skin and trigger the formation of bumps. In such cases, medications like loratadine tablets or cetirizine hydrochloride tablets should be taken as directed by a physician.
Besides the above causes, bumps could also result from conditions such as genital warts. During pregnancy, it's important to maintain a balanced diet, avoid excessive picky eating, and prevent any negative impact on fetal development.
