Introduction
In women, elevated neutrophil counts in routine blood tests are usually caused by either physiological or pathological factors, such as epidemic type B encephalitis or intestinal obstruction. Patients can be treated with medication or surgery. In addition, gastric cancer may also lead to increased neutrophil counts in blood tests. It is advisable to undergo relevant examinations and choose treatment based on the underlying cause.

Elevated neutrophils in a female's routine blood test are usually caused by either physiological or pathological factors, such as epidemic type B encephalitis or intestinal obstruction. Patients can be treated with medication or surgery. Specific analyses are as follows:

  I. Normal Phenomenon

Women may experience transiently elevated neutrophil levels during pregnancy or ovulation. This could also result from excessive physical fatigue, stress, or emotional stimulation. Generally, no special treatment is required—regular follow-up testing is sufficient.

  II. Pathological Causes

  1. Epidemic Type B Encephalitis Epidemic type B encephalitis is caused by acute infection, which may lead to an increased proportion of neutrophils during the course of the disease. Diagnosis typically requires etiological testing, and appropriate antibiotic therapy should be selected based on test results.

  2. Intestinal Obstruction Intestinal obstruction occurs when intestinal contents cannot pass through the bowel normally, potentially stimulating the body’s granulocytes and leading to leukocytosis. Once diagnosed, patients should receive treatment under a doctor's guidance, often involving surgical resection.

In addition, gastric cancer may also cause elevated neutrophils in routine blood tests. It is advisable to undergo relevant examinations and choose targeted treatments accordingly.
