What causes leg lymphedema?
Leg lymphedema may be caused by factors such as trauma, athlete's foot, and thyroid disorders. Patients should go to the hospital for examination and receive appropriate medication accordingly.
1. Trauma
Injuries may lead to local soft tissue damage and subsequent infection, resulting in leg lymphedema. Under a doctor's guidance, patients can take oral antibiotics such as Amoxicillin Capsules or Norfloxacin Capsules for treatment.
2. Athlete's Foot (Tinea Pedis)
Athlete’s foot can lead to lower limb lymphangitis, causing leg lymphedema, and may also be accompanied by symptoms such as fever and pain. Patients can take medications like Erythromycin Enteric-coated Tablets or Cefuroxime Axetil Tablets under medical supervision.
3. Thyroid Disorders
Patients with thyroid diseases often have reduced thyroid function, which can cause mucinous edema in the front of the neck and subsequently lead to leg lymphedema. Under a doctor's guidance, patients may take medications such as Methimazole Tablets or Propylthiouracil Tablets.
In addition, leg lymphedema may also result from abnormal development of lymphatic vessels. Patients should seek timely medical evaluation and receive targeted treatment under professional guidance.
