Is the ovulation period a fertile period?
Ovulation period is normally the fertile phase. The detailed explanation is as follows:
Under normal circumstances, ovulation occurs about 14 days before the next menstrual period. As the follicle develops and matures, it migrates toward the surface of the ovary and protrudes outward. When the follicle approaches the ovarian surface, the outer layer of cells becomes thin and eventually ruptures, releasing follicular fluid along with the egg. The released egg then combines with sperm to form a fertilized egg (zygote). The zygote develops gradually while moving through the fallopian tube toward the uterine cavity, where it implants into the endometrium and continues to absorb nutrients to develop further. Therefore, if unprotected intercourse occurs during the ovulation period, pregnancy is highly likely. This is why intercourse during ovulation easily leads to pregnancy.
If pregnancy is not currently desired, it is recommended to use appropriate contraception during the ovulation period.
