Human papillomavirus is a tropic virus that replicates in host keratinized epithelial cells. HPV infection is extremely prevalent and is one of the primary causative agents of sexually transmitted infections.

To date, more than 170 distinct HPV subtypes have been identified, approximately 40 of which can infect mucosal surfaces of the genital tract, including areas such as the oral cavity, throat, vagina, anus, and male external genitalia. A positive HPV33 test result indicates infection with HPV type 33, which is commonly associated with genital warts and cervical dysplasia. Warts may appear as small nodules or cauliflower-like growths, and can occur on the vulva, vaginal walls, vaginal opening, anus, or cervix. The virus is typically transmitted through sexual contact or direct skin-to-skin contact. Clinically, treatment should be conducted under medical supervision, often involving medications such as recombinant human interferon α2b gel or Baofukang suppositories.

It is recommended to maintain good personal hygiene, engage in regular physical exercise to strengthen the immune system, and follow a light diet while avoiding spicy and irritating foods.
