Introduction
Light bleeding noticed on wiping after urination during early pregnancy may be caused by physiological factors or pathological conditions such as constipation or urethritis. In the early stages of pregnancy, the fertilized egg has not yet fully implanted into the uterine lining. During this implantation process, minor rupture of local capillaries may occur, allowing blood to pass through the vagina and result in spotting after urination. This is usually a normal phenomenon.
Seeing blood on the tissue after urination during early pregnancy may be caused by physiological factors or pathological conditions such as constipation or urethritis. The specific causes are as follows:
1. Physiological Factors
In early pregnancy, the fertilized egg has not yet fully implanted into the uterine lining. During implantation, minor rupture of local capillaries may occur, causing blood to pass through the vagina and result in spotting noticed after urination. This is usually a normal phenomenon and typically resolves spontaneously within 1 to 2 days.
2. Pathological Factors
1) Constipation
If a pregnant woman overeats, frequently consumes high-fat foods, and drinks insufficient water, intestinal fluid may decrease, leading to dry and hard stool. After defecation, this can cause minor anal fissures. If these wounds fail to heal promptly, they may lead to bleeding. It is recommended to increase daily water intake. For severe constipation, medications such as psyllium husk (wheat fiber supplement) or glycerin suppositories (e.g., Kaisailu) may be used under medical supervision.
2) Urethritis
During pregnancy, a woman's immune system is relatively weakened. Poor personal hygiene or frequent sexual activity may allow external bacteria to enter the urinary tract, triggering inflammatory reactions in the urethra. Damage to local soft tissues due to inflammation can also result in bleeding. Treatment may include medications such as metronidazole tablets or azithromycin tablets under a doctor’s guidance. However, due to potential effects on fetal development, medication use should be cautious.
In addition, threatened miscarriage may also present with similar symptoms. It is advisable to maintain regular作息 (daily routines) and ensure smooth bowel movements.
