How to know if you're pregnant
Generally, one may suspect pregnancy based on changes in menstruation, breast changes, and appetite alterations. However, relying solely on symptoms can lead to inaccuracies; therefore, confirmation with a pregnancy test strip or blood HCG test is necessary.
1. Menstrual Changes
For women with a history of sexual activity, if their normally regular menstrual cycle suddenly becomes delayed by more than one week, it could indicate pregnancy.
2. Breast Changes
Due to hormonal changes in the body, the breasts may become tender, enlarged, and show darkening of the areolas, along with the appearance of Montgomery's tubercles, suggesting possible pregnancy.
3. Appetite Changes
Women may develop aversion to greasy foods, crave sour or spicy foods, or experience loss of appetite, nausea, and vomiting.
In addition, symptoms such as frequent urination and excessive sleepiness may also provide preliminary indications of pregnancy. If any of the above symptoms occur, it is important to visit the obstetrics and gynecology department at a hospital as soon as possible for a urine pregnancy test or blood HCG test to confirm pregnancy.
