How to self-check for infertility
Infertility evaluation can typically determine whether conditions such as menstrual disorders, fallopian tube blockage, or polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) are present. The specific analysis is as follows:
1. Menstrual Disorders
Menstrual disorders indicate that the ovaries are not ovulating regularly or are not ovulating at all, which may lead to female infertility. In such cases, symptoms such as lower abdominal pain may occur.
2. Fallopian Tube Blockage
If the fallopian tubes are blocked, chronic and intermittent lower abdominal pain may occur. Since the fallopian tubes are responsible for transporting sperm, picking up oocytes, and carrying fertilized eggs into the uterine cavity, tubal obstruction may prevent sperm and egg from meeting, leading to infertility.
3. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
Patients with polycystic ovary syndrome often experience irregular menstruation, amenorrhea, obesity, and other symptoms. PCOS results from abnormal regulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis in the body, leading to absent menstruation—i.e., anovulation. During intercourse, sperm and egg cannot combine, resulting in infertility.
In addition to the above, genital tract infections can also cause female infertility. If diagnosed with infertility, it is recommended to seek timely medical treatment at a hospital.
