Introduction
Hepatitis C antibody refers to the antibody against the hepatitis C virus. A hepatitis C antibody level of 0.04 S/CO is considered normal. The hepatitis C antibody is produced by the body's immune cells in response to hepatitis C virus infection. The normal reference range is 0.00–0.09 S/CO; therefore, a result of 0.04 S/CO falls within the normal range.

Anti-HCV usually refers to antibodies against the hepatitis C virus. A result of 0.04 S/CO for hepatitis C virus antibody is considered normal, and there is generally no need for excessive concern. The detailed analysis is as follows:

Antibodies against the hepatitis C virus are produced by the body's immune cells in response to hepatitis C virus infection. They serve as markers indicating prior or current viral infection. The normal reference range for hepatitis C virus antibody is 0.00–0.09 S/CO; therefore, a test result of 0.04 S/CO falls within the normal range.

A positive anti-HCV result alone cannot confirm an active hepatitis C infection. Further comprehensive evaluation is required, including HCV RNA nucleic acid testing and liver function tests.
