Introduction
Palpitations and excessive saliva rising are usually caused by hypothyroidism, reflux esophagitis, myocarditis, and similar conditions. Hypothyroidism commonly leads to reduced cardiac output. If a patient has reflux esophagitis, food may reflux into the esophagus, causing symptoms such as acid regurgitation, belching, and chest pain. Severe myocarditis can lead to arrhythmias, manifesting as palpitations.
Palpitations accompanied by frequent rising of saliva are usually caused by conditions such as hypothyroidism, reflux esophagitis, and myocarditis. A detailed analysis is as follows:
1. Hypothyroidism
Hypothyroidism typically leads to reduced cardiac output and weakened myocardial contractility, resulting in symptoms such as palpitations, anxiety, chest tightness, and possibly frequent rising of saliva. In such cases, patients should take medications like thyroid tablets or levothyroxine sodium tablets under a doctor's guidance.
2. Reflux Esophagitis
In patients with reflux esophagitis, food may reflux into the esophagus, causing symptoms such as acid regurgitation, belching, and sternal pain. Some patients may also experience palpitations. Under medical supervision, medications such as omeprazole enteric-coated capsules or rabeprazole sodium enteric-coated tablets should be taken to alleviate symptoms.
3. Myocarditis
Severe myocarditis can lead to arrhythmias, manifesting as palpitations, chest discomfort, and other symptoms, along with excessive salivation, fever, and general malaise. Patients should take medications such as coenzyme Q10 tablets or potassium magnesium aspartate tablets under a physician's direction to improve symptoms.
Besides the common causes listed above, other factors such as anemia, pneumonia, or heart failure might also be responsible. Patients should seek timely medical evaluation to identify the underlying cause and receive appropriate treatment accordingly.
