Introduction
Brown vaginal discharge in adolescent girls during non-menstrual periods may be a normal physiological phenomenon, but it could also be related to certain medical conditions such as vaginitis, cervicitis, cervical polyps, endometritis, endometrial polyps, or tumors. These conditions may cause brown vaginal discharge. It is recommended to visit a gynecology department at a hospital for proper diagnosis. If the discharge is determined to be caused by pathological factors, treatment should be pursued according to the doctor's advice.

Brownish discharge in adolescent girls during non-menstrual periods may be a normal physiological phenomenon, but could also be related to certain diseases such as vaginitis or cervicitis. It is recommended to identify the underlying cause and follow medical advice for treatment. Specific analysis is as follows:

1. Normal Physiological Phenomenon

The ovarian function in adolescents has not yet fully matured. Small amounts of blood-tinged discharge may appear before or after menstruation or during ovulation, which is considered a normal physiological occurrence and generally does not require special treatment.

2. Pathological Factors

1) Vaginitis

Poor menstrual hygiene or decreased immune function may allow pathogenic microorganisms to invade and cause inflammation of the vaginal mucosa. This leads to congestion and edema at the affected site, with rupture of capillaries resulting in blood-tinged discharge. It is recommended to maintain good personal hygiene. Patients may take medications such as metronidazole tablets, clindamycin hydrochloride capsules, or fluconazole tablets under a doctor's guidance.

2) Cervicitis

This condition is associated with infection of the cervix by pathogens. For example, acute cervicitis may present with spotting that is discharged along with secretions. It is recommended that patients take doxycycline hydrochloride tablets, azithromycin dispersible tablets, or metronidazole tablets under medical supervision to eliminate pathogens and promote resolution of the infection.

In addition, cervical polyps, endometritis, endometrial polyps, or tumors may also cause brownish vaginal discharge. Close observation is advised, and if necessary, visit a gynecology department at a hospital for evaluation. If a pathological cause is confirmed, treatment should be carried out according to the physician’s recommendations.
