Introduction
Curettage can remove residual materials from the uterine cavity, diagnose diseases of the uterine cavity and cervical canal, assist in uterine repair, and reduce bleeding and infection. The patient is placed in the lithotomy position. The perineal area is disinfected and covered with sterile drapes. The anterior lip of the cervix is grasped with a cervical clamp. A speculum is used to dilate the cervical canal. An appropriate curette is then inserted into the uterine cavity to scrape out the embryo and excess tissue.

Dilation and curettage (D&C) removes retained material from the uterine cavity, helps diagnose conditions of the uterine cavity and cervical canal, assists in uterine repair, and reduces bleeding and infection risk. D&C should be performed at a正规 medical facility. The specific procedure steps are as follows:

1. Disinfection: The patient is placed in the lithotomy position. The perineal area is disinfected, and a sterile drape is applied.

2. Vaginal speculum insertion: The cervix is stabilized by grasping its upper lip with a cervical clamp. A uterine sound is inserted into the uterus to measure its depth, followed by dilation of the cervical canal using a dilator.

3. Curettage: An appropriately sized curette is inserted into the uterine cavity to scrape out embryonic tissue and remaining materials.

Bathing in a tub or sitting in water should be avoided for one month after the D&C procedure to prevent infection.
