Introduction
Congenital purple lips may result from physiological factors or pathological causes such as anemia and hypoxia. In some patients with dark skin or congenital pigmentation, purple lips can be a normal phenomenon. Pay attention to adjusting the diet and avoid consuming spicy and greasy foods. Besides the aforementioned reasons, purple lips could also be caused by conditions such as hemangioma, poisoning, or heart failure.

Naturally purple lips may be caused by physiological factors, or by pathological conditions such as anemia or hypoxia. The specific details are as follows:
I. Physiological Factors
Some individuals with dark skin or congenital pigmentation may naturally have purple lips, which is a normal phenomenon. Adjusting diet and avoiding spicy, greasy foods is recommended.
II. Pathological Factors
1. Anemia
Due to insufficient blood volume and reduced oxygen-carrying capacity, immunity may decline, leading to purple lips. Under medical guidance, medications such as Shengxue Ning tablets or Buzhong Yiqi pills may be used for treatment.
2. Hypoxia
This typically refers to inadequate oxygen supply or utilization, failing to meet the minimum requirements of brain metabolism, resulting in varying degrees of functional impairment, including the symptom described. Medications such as Xinnaoxin pills or Xuesaitong tablets may be used as directed by a physician.
Besides the above causes, purple lips could also result from conditions such as hemangioma, poisoning, or heart failure. It is important to get adequate rest, avoid strenuous exercise, and refrain from prolonged熬夜 (staying up late).
