Many red spots appeared on my belly at four months pregnant.
During the fourth month of pregnancy, developing numerous red spots on the abdomen may be caused by physiological factors, or could result from pathological conditions such as prurigo of pregnancy or allergies. In most cases, symptoms can be relieved through general care or medication. The details are as follows:
1. Physiological Causes
Red spots appearing on the abdomen in the fourth month of pregnancy may occur due to skin stretching and weakened skin tissue. This condition generally does not cause adverse effects and can be improved by applying aloe vera gel, olive oil, or similar products.
2. Pathological Causes
1) Prurigo of Pregnancy
Prurigo of pregnancy is a specific condition occurring during pregnancy, possibly triggered by changes in hormone levels and immune function. It typically presents as symmetrical red papules accompanied by itching. For this condition, it is recommended to follow medical advice and use treatments such as calamine ointment or compound glycerin anti-itch lotion.
2) Allergy
Exposure to allergens such as pollen or metals may trigger an abnormal immune response in the abdominal skin, resulting in red spots along with itching and swelling. In such cases, calamine lotion or vitamin E cream may be used under a doctor's guidance to alleviate symptoms.
In addition to the above causes, red spots may also be due to eczema, spider angiomas, or pruritic folliculitis of pregnancy. If significant discomfort occurs, prompt medical consultation is advised.
