Introduction
Elevated levels of both estrogen and testosterone may be caused by improper diet, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), adrenal gland disorders, or other factors. These imbalances can be improved through dietary adjustments and medication. In addition to the above causes, emotional factors, corpus luteum cysts, or impaired liver function may also contribute. Patients should receive appropriate treatment under the guidance of a physician based on their individual condition.
Elevated levels of both estrogen and testosterone may be caused by improper diet, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), adrenal disorders, or other factors. Symptoms can be improved through dietary adjustments, medication, and other treatments. Specific causes are analyzed as follows:
1. Improper Diet
If patients frequently consume foods high in fat—such as fatty meats or spicy hot pot—or regularly eat foods containing phytoestrogens—such as soybeans and lentils—this may lead to elevated levels of both estrogen and testosterone. However, this condition is usually temporary and symptoms can be relieved by adjusting the diet. Patients should maintain a light diet and consume foods such as bananas, spinach, and eggs.
2. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)
This is a common endocrine and metabolic disorder, often associated with genetic and environmental factors. It can cause hormonal imbalances, including increased estrogen and elevated testosterone levels. Under medical guidance, patients may take medications such as estradiol drospirenone tablets, drospirenone tablets, or cyproterone acetate tablets to regulate hormone levels.
3. Adrenal Disorders
These refer to diseases affecting the adrenal glands, commonly caused by adrenal tissue damage or infection, leading to disrupted endocrine regulation, abnormal hormone metabolism, and electrolyte imbalances. This may result in excessive estrogen secretion. Under medical supervision, treatment options include ethinyl estradiol valerate/estradiol tablets, drospirenone/ethinyl estradiol tablets, or ethinyl estradiol/cyproterone acetate tablets.
