Feeling vaginal pain after giving birth
Feeling vaginal pain after childbirth may be caused by factors such as birth canal injury, vaginitis, or pelvic inflammatory disease, and timely medical treatment at a hospital is necessary. Specific causes are as follows:
1. Birth Canal Injury
During delivery, lateral incisions or vaginal injuries may occur, leading to incomplete recovery of the uterus and surrounding tissues, resulting in vaginal pain. Generally, no special treatment is required; just ensure full physical recovery before resuming sexual intercourse.
2. Vaginitis
After childbirth, the vaginal wall becomes looser and more susceptible to invasion by bacteria and other pathogenic microorganisms. Poor personal hygiene may lead to vaginitis, causing postpartum vaginal pain. Treatment may include medications such as Lactobacillus vaginal capsules or Tinidazole tablets, taken under a doctor's guidance.
3. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID)
After delivery, the body's resistance is relatively low, making it easier for bacterial or viral infections to invade the pelvic cavity and cause inflammation. During intercourse, stimulation of the pelvic mucosa may trigger lower abdominal pain. Medications such as Gongyan Kang granules or Gongyan Ping capsules may be used under medical supervision.
In addition to the above causes, cervical ectropion, uterine fibroids, or cervical cancer could also be potential reasons. It is advisable to wear loose, comfortable underwear, preferably made of cotton.
