Introduction
In general, gastroesophageal reflux accompanied by bile reflux may be caused by factors such as lower esophageal sphincter relaxation, decreased lower esophageal sphincter pressure, and hiatal hernia. Patients can receive symptomatic treatment under the guidance of a physician. In addition to these three common causes, it may also result from conditions such as cardia relaxation, esophageal mucosal barrier defects, or esophageal cancer.

In general, gastroesophageal reflux accompanied by bile reflux may be caused by factors such as lower esophageal sphincter relaxation, decreased lower esophageal sphincter pressure, or hiatal hernia. Patients should receive symptomatic treatment under the guidance of a physician. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Lower Esophageal Sphincter Relaxation

Long-term unhealthy dietary habits, such as smoking, alcohol consumption, and consuming large amounts of spicy or irritating foods, may damage the esophageal mucosal function. When the lower esophageal sphincter becomes relaxed, bile and gastric contents can reflux into the esophagus. It is recommended to chew food thoroughly, eat slowly, and adopt a pattern of small, frequent meals. If necessary, medications such as ranitidine hydrochloride tablets or famotidine tablets may be taken under medical supervision.

2. Decreased Lower Esophageal Sphincter Pressure

When the pressure of the lower esophageal sphincter decreases, the propulsive peristaltic activity weakens, impairing the esophagus’s ability to promptly clear refluxed material, leading to gastroesophageal reflux with bile reflux. In such cases, medications such as nifedipine tablets or clonazepam tablets may be prescribed under a doctor's guidance.

3. Hiatal Hernia

In cases of hiatal hernia, the esophagus passes through the diaphragm into the abdominal cavity. When intra-abdominal pressure increases, stomach contents and gastric juice may reflux into the esophagus, damaging the local mucosa. Under medical guidance, drugs such as domperidone tablets or mosapride citrate tablets may be used for treatment.

Besides the three common causes mentioned above, gastroesophageal reflux with bile reflux may also result from conditions such as cardia relaxation, esophageal mucosal barrier defects, or esophageal cancer. Specific diagnoses require thorough evaluation at a hospital, followed by appropriate treatment according to medical advice. Timely medical consultation is essential to avoid delays in treatment.
