Introduction
Dizziness and unsteady gait may be caused by conditions such as hypoglycemia, cervical spondylosis, or benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), and can be improved with medication. Besides these causes, many other factors—such as hypertension, cerebral ischemia, or cerebral hemorrhage—can also lead to such symptoms. If these symptoms persist for a prolonged period, prompt medical evaluation is recommended to avoid delaying diagnosis and treatment.

Dizziness and unsteady gait may be caused by conditions such as hypoglycemia, cervical spondylosis, or benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), and can be improved with medication. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Hypoglycemia

Hypoglycemia refers to a decrease in plasma glucose levels. During an episode, it may impair energy supply and metabolism in brain cells, leading to the aforementioned symptoms. In such cases, consuming candy, chocolate, or similar sugary foods can help alleviate symptoms.

2. Cervical Spondylosis

Contributing factors to cervical spondylosis include soft tissue injury and degenerative changes in the cervical spine. If affected, the vertebral artery may become compromised, resulting in the symptoms described above. It is recommended to take appropriate medications under medical guidance, such as ibuprofen sustained-release capsules, celecoxib capsules, or mecobalamin tablets.

3. Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)

BPPV is a type of peripheral vertigo in which small calcium carbonate crystals (otoconia) in the inner ear become dislodged and migrate into the semicircular canals, generating abnormal balance signals and causing the symptoms mentioned. In most cases, symptoms can be improved by taking medications as directed by a physician, such as betahistine hydrochloride tablets, promethazine hydrochloride tablets, or compound ginkgo leaf extract capsules.

Besides the above causes, other potential reasons include hypertension, cerebral ischemia, intracranial hemorrhage, and more. If symptoms persist for a prolonged period, prompt medical evaluation is advised to avoid delays in diagnosis and treatment.
