Introduction
Nasopharyngeal irrigation for nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients undergoing radiotherapy involves inserting the tip of a syringe filled with normal saline into one nostril, pressing the opposite nostril closed, and gently squeezing the irrigator so that the solution slowly flows into the nasal cavity. The same procedure is then repeated for the other side. It is recommended that nasopharyngeal cleaning be performed at a正规 medical institution under the guidance of a qualified physician.

Under normal circumstances, nasal irrigation with normal saline can be performed during radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma. The specific procedure is as follows:

1. The patient should sit in front of a sink, slightly leaning forward with head lowered.

2. Insert the tip of the irrigation device filled with solution into one nostril, press the opposite nostril closed, breathe through the mouth, and gently squeeze the nasopharyngeal irrigator to allow the solution to slowly flow into the nasal cavity.

3. Gently release the irrigator to allow the solution to drain out through the mouth or the opposite nostril. Repeat this process, continuously and slowly squeezing, until the nasal cavity is thoroughly cleaned.

4. Use the same method to irrigate the other nasal cavity.

5. After irrigation, rinse the mouth with warm water and dry the mouth and nose with gauze; the procedure is then complete.

It should be noted that radiotherapy for nasopharyngeal carcinoma may damage the nasal mucosal tissue. Therefore, nasal and nasopharyngeal irrigation is recommended to be performed at a正规 medical facility under the guidance of a qualified physician.
