Introduction
Bloodletting therapy involves puncturing specific body areas or acupuncture points with a needle to release blood, and has effects such as unblocking meridians, regulating qi and blood circulation, relieving pain, and reducing swelling. Diabetic patients may use this method, but must pay attention to blood glucose control. It should be noted that the therapeutic effect of this procedure is not significant; if diabetic symptoms are severe, patients are advised to combine other treatments under the guidance of a physician.

Generally, bloodletting therapy involves puncturing specific body areas or acupoints with a needle to release a small amount of blood. It helps unblock meridians, regulate qi and blood flow, relieve pain, and reduce swelling. Diabetic patients may use this method, but they must carefully control their blood glucose levels. The specific procedure is as follows:

1. Select appropriate acupoints based on the patient's condition. A commonly used point is Sanyinjiao (SP6), located on the inner side of the lower leg, 3 cun (approximately four finger widths) above the tip of the medial malleolus, posterior to the posterior border of the tibia.

2. Perform routine disinfection of the selected acupoint to ensure sterility and safety during the procedure.

3. Use a sterile fine needle to gently puncture the acupoint, aiming for slight skin reddening and minimal bleeding.

4. After treatment, clean the punctured site to prevent infection.

If this procedure is needed, it is recommended to visit a正规 medical institution and perform it under the guidance of a qualified physician to avoid bodily harm due to improper operation. It should be noted that the therapeutic effect of this procedure is limited. For diabetic patients with severe symptoms, it is advisable to follow a doctor’s guidance and combine other treatment methods accordingly.
