Introduction
In general, shock due to infection in clinical practice usually refers to septic shock, which can be life-threatening. Septic shock is defined as sepsis syndrome accompanied by shock, caused by microorganisms and their toxins or other products. If septic shock occurs, it is recommended to seek immediate medical attention at a hospital to avoid delaying treatment. It should be noted that not all cases of septic shock currently have available treatments.

In general, septic shock in clinical practice usually refers to infectious shock, which can be life-threatening. Infectious shock is defined as sepsis syndrome accompanied by shock caused by microorganisms and their toxins or other products. The specific analysis is as follows:

Infectious shock occurs when severe infection leads to a massive release of inflammatory mediators, resulting in vasodilation, relatively insufficient blood volume, decreased blood pressure, and inadequate perfusion of vital organs. If not effectively treated promptly, it may endanger life. Common pathogens causing infectious shock include bacteria and viruses, particularly Gram-negative bacteria, which are more likely to induce shock. Once a patient's condition progresses to infectious shock, the risk of death remains high.

It should be noted that not all cases of infectious shock currently have available treatments. For example, viral infections and multidrug-resistant bacterial infections often lack effective drug options. If patients have poor immunity and multiple underlying diseases, the prognosis is usually unfavorable and may lead to death. Furthermore, without timely and effective anti-shock treatment, insufficient blood volume can cause multi-organ damage and even organ failure. When more than three organs fail, the mortality rate can reach as high as 75%. Therefore, in clinical management, both anti-infective and anti-shock treatments are essential for infectious shock.

If infectious shock is suspected, it is recommended to seek immediate medical attention at a hospital to avoid delays in treatment.
