Introduction
Bloodletting acupuncture refers to the traditional blood-letting therapy. "High fever" here specifically means hyperthermia. Hyperthermia can be treated with blood-letting therapy under a doctor's guidance. It should be noted that although bloodletting may help treat high fever, this is not universally applicable. Due to individual differences, blood-letting therapy may not be suitable for everyone. Generally, individuals with coagulation disorders or pregnant women should avoid this treatment.

Acupuncture bloodletting refers to the traditional blood-letting therapy, and "high fever" here specifically means hyperthermia. Hyperthermia may be treated with blood-letting therapy. Note that this therapy must be performed under the guidance of a qualified physician. The specific procedure is as follows:

1. The doctor locates the Dazhui (GV14) acupoint at the depression below the spinous process of the 7th cervical vertebra along the posterior midline on the patient's neck. The area is then kneaded, pressed, and massaged to induce local congestion and swelling.

2. The puncture site is disinfected using a cotton ball soaked in 2.5% iodine tincture, followed by wiping with a 75% ethanol cotton ball.

3. Holding the needle with the left hand, the doctor grips the needle handle firmly between the thumb and index finger, supports the shaft of the needle with the tip of the middle finger, exposes 0.3–0.5 cm of the needle tip, and quickly inserts it into the disinfected site.

4. Immediately after insertion, the needle is withdrawn. Gentle pressure is applied around the puncture site to allow a few drops of blood to flow out, after which a sterile cotton ball is used to lightly press and cover the puncture site.

It should be noted that although bloodletting may help treat high fever, its effectiveness cannot be generalized. Due to individual differences, blood-letting therapy may not be suitable for everyone. It is generally contraindicated for individuals with coagulation disorders or pregnant women.
