Introduction
Under normal circumstances, crackling sounds in the hair may be related to factors such as static electricity, friction of cuticular scales, physiological tinnitus, otitis media, or depression. Patients are advised to follow medical guidance for symptomatic treatment. When hair becomes charged or rubs against other objects, static electricity may be generated, causing friction between hairs and producing crackling sounds.

In general, crackling sounds in the hair may be related to factors such as static electricity, cuticle friction, physiological tinnitus, otitis media, or depression. Patients are advised to follow medical guidance for symptomatic treatment. Specific analyses are as follows:

1. Static Electricity

When hair becomes charged or rubs against other objects, static electricity may be generated. This static charge can cause friction between hairs, resulting in crackling sounds. It is recommended that patients use a humidifier to increase humidity at home and in the workplace, which can help alleviate static electricity.

2. Cuticle Friction

The outer layer of hair consists of multiple layers of cuticles. When these cuticles are irritated or rubbed, they may produce crackling sounds. Such friction is usually caused by damaged, dry, or poorly maintained hair. Regular use of conditioner can lubricate and moisturize the hair, helping to repair damaged cuticles.

3. Physiological Tinnitus

This may be associated with excessive mental stress or prolonged exposure to noisy environments. After onset, it commonly leads to tinnitus, which typically manifests as ringing, whistling, or noise-like sounds in the ears. In severe cases, the aforementioned symptoms may also occur. Under medical supervision, patients may take medications such as mecobalamin dispersible tablets or betahistine hydrochloride tablets for treatment.

4. Otitis Media

Otitis media is an inflammatory condition affecting part or all of the middle ear structures, caused by various factors. Clinical manifestations include ear pain, hearing loss, and a feeling of ear fullness. The above-mentioned crackling sounds may also occur. Treatment may involve taking medications such as roxithromycin capsules or cefuroxime axetil capsules as directed by a physician.

5. Depression

Depression is a common mental health disorder. Patients with depression may experience auditory hallucinations, leading to the symptoms described above. Patients should seek timely medical attention; when necessary, medications such as lorazepam tablets or oxazepam tablets may be used under medical guidance.

If patients experience any discomfort, it is recommended to visit a hospital promptly to avoid delaying diagnosis and treatment.
