Introduction
In general, gonorrhea can be treated through lifestyle modifications, abstinence from sexual activity, oral medications, intravenous infusion, or intramuscular injection. Patients with gonococcal infection should frequently wash their hands with soap and running water in daily life, avoid rubbing their eyes with hands as much as possible, and sun-dry their undergarments after washing, which helps alleviate symptoms.

Under normal circumstances, Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection can be treated through lifestyle modifications, abstinence from sexual activity, oral medications, intravenous infusion, and intramuscular injections. Specific approaches are as follows:

1. Lifestyle Modifications

Patients with gonococcal infection should frequently wash their hands with soap and running water in daily life, avoid rubbing their eyes with their hands, and dry their undergarments in direct sunlight after washing, which helps alleviate symptoms.

2. Abstinence from Sexual Activity

Gonococcal infection may cause purulent infections of the urogenital system and is one of the common sexually transmitted diseases. Therefore, sexual activity should be avoided until the infection is fully cured to prevent cross-infection.

3. Oral Medications

Patients may take medications such as azithromycin capsules, doxycycline hydrochloride tablets, ciprofloxacin hydrochloride capsules, or gentamicin sulfate sustained-release tablets orally as prescribed by a physician, which helps manage bacterial infections.

4. Intravenous Infusion

Patients may also receive treatment via intravenous infusion under medical guidance, using medications such as ceftriaxone sodium for injection, ceftazidime for injection, or levofloxacin hydrochloride injection.

5. Intramuscular Injection

Intramuscular injection is another treatment option, with commonly used drugs including spectinomycin hydrochloride for injection and cefotaxime sodium for injection.

If patients experience any discomfort or symptoms, they are advised to seek timely medical attention at a hospital to avoid delays in diagnosis and treatment.
