Introduction
An autorefractor report is a method used to assess eye condition. The letters on the report—R, L, S, C, A, VD, and PD—each have specific meanings. Note that measurements for myopia or hyperopia, astigmatism, and astigmatism axis are typically taken three times consecutively. On the vision examination report, three rows of data will appear, with the fourth row showing the average of the first three measurements.

Computerized eye refraction is a method used to assess eye conditions. On a refraction report, letters such as R, L, S, C, A, VD, and PD each have specific meanings, analyzed as follows:

1. R

R stands for the right eye. Values listed under this column represent data for the right eye.

2. L

L stands for the left eye. Values listed under this column represent data for the left eye.

3. S

S represents the spherical lens, indicating the degree of myopia or hyperopia. A "+" sign indicates hyperopia (farsightedness), while a "-" sign indicates myopia. For example, +0.75 indicates 75 degrees of hyperopia.

4. C

C represents the cylindrical lens, indicating the degree of astigmatism. For example, -0.25 indicates 25 degrees of astigmatism.

5. A

A refers to the axis of astigmatism, which exists only when astigmatism is present.

6. VD

VD stands for vertex distance, which is typically the distance from the back surface of the spectacle lens to the corneal apex when wearing glasses.

7. PD

PD stands for pupillary distance, representing the distance between the centers of the pupils of the two eyes.

Note: Measurements for myopia/hyperopia, astigmatism, and astigmatism axis are usually taken three times consecutively. The vision examination report will display three rows of data, with the fourth row showing the average of the first three measurements.
