How is HPV testing done?
Under normal circumstances, HPV refers to human papillomavirus. Human papillomavirus testing can detect whether an HPV infection is present. The acetic acid white test (aceto-white test) may be used for HPV detection. The specific procedure is as follows:
1. Position the patient in the lithotomy position and disinfect the perineal area.
2. Insert a vaginal speculum into the vagina to expand it and expose the cervical os.
3. Use a swab to remove secretions from the cervix, then apply a cotton ball soaked in 5% acetic acid to the affected skin areas and surrounding normal skin and mucosa.
4. After 2–5 minutes, observe the condition of the cervix. If the tissue does not turn white, the test result is positive; otherwise, it is negative.
Prior to performing the acetic acid white test, ensure proper cleaning of the genital skin to avoid affecting the test results. If you wish to undergo this test, it is recommended to visit a正规 hospital and consult a qualified physician to prevent adverse outcomes.
